Recently I had the chance to sit down and devote my full attention to listening to some of Anglo Cares music on Spotify. Although I was certain that I was in for a delightful experience considering the gravity of Anglo Care’s reputation in music, I had no idea how spellbound I would become by this record’s multi-layered, divine drive and unrivalled creativity.
I isolated myself from everything going on in my day to day life and pressed play on The Sun will rise again , and instantly the magic of Anglo Care’s skills which reached out and grabbed me by the throat. I found myself being transported to a deserted land, where nothing exists except desperation and the never ending search for glory when i listened to Epic Quarantine . Littering my path were enormous strings and synthesized mountains, both of which I would soon find myself trapped in for an indeterminate amount of time.
We grind and gallop our way through the surrounding bleakness and venture into the daze of self-awareness with I Don’t want to be emperor, realizing at once what we must do to reach a climactic oasis. Anglo Cares churns us in a vortex of minor key whirlwinds that sweep us away and refuse to break our tension, even when it feels like we’re on the very edge of sanity. It isn’t until the title track comes to a screeching confrontation between the drums and the melody that we are at last freed from our prison of sonic suffocation, and the release is comprised of pure ecstasy, to put it mildly.
We managed to catch up with Angelo Cares for an interview
What inspired you to get into music?
Although i enjoy many musical styles, electronic music and mainly deep and progressive house have a special effect on me. Perhaps it is the simplicity of the melodic lines, the repetitive hit of the kick or the deep vibration of the bass. Something in electronic music transports me to spaces where i feel happy and comfortable. Maybe that’s what prompted me to believe that i also had the ability to create those mysterious sounds that had so much meaning to me.
My main inspiration in creating my music are moments of life. Not only the most important moments but also the everyday moments that can be transformed into instances to reconnect. During the creation of modern mantras, my last EP, i asked myself “what kind of music could make the take-off of an airplane starting a trip become a magical moment for a passenger?”, “how could an awakening of any given day be transformed into a soundtrack? “. For me, the answer is that each moment is music in itself and that it is enough to pay attention to make that “intangible” music something real.
How would you describe your music?
I produce progressive and deep house.I try to make music which you can dance to while closing your eyes and “meditate”. Just you and the music. I love to give my music a deep and soulful vibe and sometimes epic/heroic moments. My inspiration are moments of my life (important ones but also everyday ones). I always ask myself “how a wakeup on a summer vacation should be musicalized?, what about music for a road trip early in the morning?, which sound would make an airplane takeoff an epic experience as a passenger?”. My goal is to inspire people to look inside themselves while dancing. Give crowds of people a spiritual (obviously non religious) musical experience. I want to be the master of ceremonies of a musical journey decorated with the emotions that emerge in intimate moments with oneself.
What would you say is your recording and song writing style?
Many of my tracks are just instrumental but when i add lyrics i try to make them inspiring and soulful. In a recent review of my last EP, the author wrote the following: “The deep/progressive house, five-track EP delivers atmospheric productions with transcending melodies and euphoric drops. The producer’s talent is elegantly spelled in the EP as the listeners will embark on a musical trance that will have them hooked. Where would you like to see your music career in 5 years time?
My main goal for the next years is to better understand how to connect with my audience. I want to share with them in big scenarios and create a powerful bond. I don’t look for fame or fortune through music, because making music and see people enjoying it with their eyes closed is more than enough for me. I really see myself touring and meeting with my audience overseas.
